So far, my IKEA home delivery experience has not been a good one. I ordered a Kullen wardrobe and a chest. The delivery charge was about $140 on $250 worth of merchandise. The items were scheduled to be delivered on a Wednesday between 2-6 so I took half a day off work. When the order finally arrived at 6:30, they hurriedly left me 3 boxes and would not wait for me to try to confirm what was just delivered in these 3 apparently unmarked boxes. Sure enough, I only received 1 of the 2 Kullen wardrobe boxes and somebody else’s headboard. I called the delivery company and they scheduled another delivery for me on Sat so I did not have to miss more work. They never showed up. When I called on Monday, they said that it was IKEA who sent the wrong items from the warehouse and it would likely be another week or two before they received the correct part.
If I could, I would return the half-Kullen, get my money back, and be done with it. I wanted to order a display case from IKEA but, now I can’t.
I wish IKEA would just use padded packaging boxes and ship direct via standard carrier like everyone else.
